- People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for a few underdogs
anyway.
- What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
- People really need help, but may attack you if you do help them. Help them
anyway.
- Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth. Give the

These 10 maxims have been mistakenly attributed to Mother Teresa because they were found engraved
on the wall of the home for children in Calcutta, India.
In fact, the 10 maxims were written by Kent Keith in 1968, when he was 19, a sophomore at
Harvard College. Kent copyrighted them and included them in a 65-page booklet published for high
school student leaders. It had a distribution of about 30,000.
